Courses

In the Research & Design Lab the students combine their core subject matter with integrated technologies and research skills to enhance their learning and bring about real life applications.  This course offers a curriculum based on elements from the IFC, Future Ready Librarians, ISTE, NYSCSDL standards with a focus on research skills, digital literacy and citizenship, as well as an introduction to Computer Science and coding through Project Based Learning. Students pair their research skills with the ability to determine credible sources online, how to create a positive digital footprint, and learn how to parallel their in-person community behaviors with that of their online presence. Nardin Academy believes in educating the whole student by meeting them where they are in the digital world as well as the world of their future.

The Collection

The Center is home to over 10,000 books, five academic databases, 5,000 streaming videos, 400 audio books and 8,000 ebooks. The Center’s assets also include endless digital resources, virtual reality experiences, a recording space with a green screen and editing space, a 3D printer and robotics material for all ages.

Commemorative Book Program

The Koessler Innovation and Technology Center is excited to partner with the Department of Institutional Advancement to launch Nardin Academy’s Commemorative Book Program. This initiative allows for Nardin community members to make a monetary gift in a donor’s name to fund resources for The Koessler Innovation and Technology Center. The gift, regardless of size, will be entered into a fund to purchase books and technology on behalf of the students.

The Commemorative Book Program allows alumni, parents, grandparents, family, and friends to fund the purchase of one or multiple books for multiple occasions including birthdays, commencement, moving-up day, in remembrance, and other monumental occasions with a personalized bookplate stating the recipient's name, the year, and occasion inside of the gift. The selection will remain in the Center as long as the life of the book, but the donation and recipient will be noted in a designated place set aside to acknowledge all of the gifts to The I&T Center. Thank you for joining us in enriching our collection and becoming a part of a significant legacy at Nardin Academy.
